Macaroni News!

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! Just a few pieces of business this week.

If you went to the Wanna Play? Experience on Saturday, I heard it was a blast! Thanks to the wonderful folks at Candyman Strings & Things for providing Santa Feans with this hands-on, free event each year. I wish I could have been there, but it was the same day as CommUNITY Day this year. I had a lovely time with my friend Pat from Many Mothers, a beautiful and worthwhile volunteer organization that exists just to help new moms. I am so glad she could share the space with me, it made the day go by quickly.

Summer is almost here, so don't forget to sign your kiddo up for swimming lessons so they can be safe and have fun in the pool. Lesson times are filling up fast, so contact Michelle Leyba to reserve a spot that works for you.

It's still Bike To Work Week. Click here for a listing of ongoing events.

Santa Fe Public Schools has announced it's dates for registration, for those of us who opted out of the first round (or just couldn't make it.) Registration will take place the first week of June and the second week of July. Further information still to be announced at www.sfps.info

Check Out This Fluffy Cat

Sienna is a four-year-old long hair Norwegian Forest Cat cross with a luxuriously fluffy tricolor coat. Her most rambunctious days are behind her and she loves curling up next to you and getting some love. She is remarkably tolerant of handling and is happy any time people pay attention to her. She is social with other cats and gets along great with everyone she has met so far.

Sienna is a big girl, about 12 pounds although she looks even bigger with her soft fluffy coat and bushy tail. Sienna is staying at our Satellite adoptions facility All Fur Friends on Camino Entrada.

For more information about Sienna or any of the other adoptable pets at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter, visit them or call 983-4309 Ext. 610.

BLACK IS ALWAYS IN STYLE
Back in Black

Did you know black dogs and cats make wonderful companions yet are often overlooked at shelters? That's why we're joining with Best Friends Animal Society for the month-long Back in Black adoption event.

Adoption fees are 50 percent off all adult animals with black markings. Give black cats and dogs the attention they deserve by spreading the word about our May adoption event.

Watch our Facebook page for daily photos and stories about animals who happen to be black!

Movie Review: Dark Shadows

Remember to click "Read More" to see Raven's video review!

The film Dark Shadows opened last weekend to an eagerly awaiting audience of both Tim Burton and Johnny Depp fans. Based on the ABC daytime show which aired during the late 1960s which generated a cult following, what was taken seriously in the late 60s / early 70s comes across as comedy today. The majority of the movie is set in 1972 and incorporates music from the Moody Blues (Nights in White Satin) with appearances by Karen Carpenter in a TV scene, a cameo appearance by Alice Cooper and appearances by ...

Add the benefit that there is no cleaning dishes and I can’t think of a better quick meal! We eat so much pasta salad, however, that I have had to come up with variations so that we don’t get bored with our typical “family ...
